Marchant Wins Re-Election to Eighth Term in Congress

COPPELL, TX — Congressman Kenny Marchant (TX-24) won re-election to an eighth term in the U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday, defeating Democrat Jan McDowell and Libertarian Mike Kolls in the general election for Texas’ 24th Congressional District.

With 133,317 votes, Marchant received 50.6 percent of the vote to McDowell’s 47.5 percent, securing another two-year term in the 116th Congress.

Marchant was first elected to Congress in 2004. He serves on the House Committee on Ways and Means and previously served nine terms in the Texas House of Representatives and as a councilman and mayor of Carrollton.
