- Congressman Marchant cosponsored the Veterans Travel Tax Relief Act of 2009, which would allow veterans a deduction from gross income for their travel expenses to a Department of Veteran Affairs medical center for treatment related to a service-connected disability.
- Congressman Marchant cosponsored House Resolution 249, which expresses the sense of the House that the Department of Veterans Affairs should take full responsibility for financing the health care benefits earned by veterans with service-connected disabilities.
- Congressman Marchant cosponsored House Resolution 111, which establishes the House Select Committee on POW and MIA Affairs.
- Congressman Marchant cosponsored the Veteran-Owned Small Business Promotion Act of 2009, which would reinstate the veteran-owned small business loan program under which the Secretary of Veterans Affairs may provide up to $1 billion in loan guarantees to veteran-owned small businesses.
- Congressman Marchant cosponsored the Retired Pay Restoration Act, which would immediately end the requirement that disabled veterans give up their military retirement pay in order to receive VA disability benefits.
