Congressman Marchant is dedicated to fighting for transparency and accountability at all levels of government. To that end, Congressman Marchant is proud to cosponsor the following legislation:
- House Resolution 554, which requires that all bills be made available online for at least 72 hours before they come to a vote.
- House Resolution 835, which requires committees to post bill text online within 24 hours of adoption.
- House Resolution 874, which requires that all members’ committee votes be posted online within 48 hours.
- House Resolution 869, which would allow cameras in the Rules Committee (the committee that decides which bills come to a vote).
- House Resolution 819, which would provide for separate votes on legislative proposals that contain unrelated matters (for example: Congress added the controversial Hate Crimes Bill to the Defense Authorization Act intended to fund our troops in combat).
